About Ms. Coleman

After earning my BA in Studio Art from California State University, Fullerton in 2014, I moved to Seoul, South Korea to teach English as a foreign language. While living and working in Seoul, I found an abiding love for teaching and working with students to explore their interests and help inspire them. Currently, I am pursuing my teaching credential in art at CSUF. Outside of class I love to travel and learn about different cultures, and to connect with how vast the art world truly is.

Mission Statement:

Painting a landscape en plein air, sketching from the imagination, or building a 3D form out of clay all have many things in common: problem-solving, making judgements, and learning from mistakes. As an art educator, I will help my students learn these integral lessons while making connections between themselves and their interests. I will guide students in utilizing these funds of knowledge in the work they create while ensuring they encounter multiple perspectives through exposing them to a wide-variety of artists and developing their skills in multiple mediums of art. Importantly, I will teach each student that art is not a talent but a skill that can be developed.
